Dr. Martens, the utility boot brand that became emblematic of  '90s grunge, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the brand will issue limited-edition runs of its iconic lace-up "1460" style (pictured) as well as the low-top "1461" version. They've also enlisted 10 indie music artists, from The Noisettes to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, to record classic covers that embody Dr. Martens' tough-as-nails spirit. We hold fond memories of rocking Docs with floral-print dresses while watching My So-Called Life, so we love that young fashionistas like Emma Roberts have embraced the shoes, creating sophisticated looks all their own.
