In a political upset that continues to rock the world, billionaire real estate developer and television personality Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States late into Tuesday night.

After a divisive and seemingly never-ending race, people across the world watched with bated breath as Trump clinched the electoral college votes that earned him the keys to the White House.
