Disney Releases Stunning New Portraits of The Jungle Book Cast
After Disney released the mind-blowing trailer for their upcoming film The Jungle Book last month, we didn't think we could get any more excited for the flick—but they were out to prove us wrong.
Today, the studio debuted six cast portraits promoting the sure-to-be hit that feature the star-studded cast alongside the famed CGI jungle animals that they voice in the movie, and they are truly stunning. The images bring The Jungle Book to life, and one of our favorites showcases InStyle's April 2016 cover star Lupita Nyong'o next to her character Raksha.
"Lupita Nyong'o voices Raksha, a mother wolf who cares deeply for all of her pups–including man-cub Mowgli, whom she adopts as one of her own when he's abandoned in the jungle as an infant," the caption reads. "'She is the protector, the eternal mother,' says Nyong'o. 'The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn’t originally hers but one she’s taken for her own.' #JungleBook."
Check out all of the striking photos below, and catch The Jungle Book when it hits theaters on April 15.
