This year she honored Vodianova, Robin Roberts, Andeisha Farid of the Afghan Child Education and Care Organization, Sunitha Krishnan of the anti-trafficking organization Prajwala, and Tammy Tibbetts, who received the People’s Voice Award for her education charity She’s the First. Von Furstenberg continued to emphasize the strength of women when she took the stage to address the crowd: “I have never met a woman who is not strong,” she said. “They don’t exist. Sometimes they’re not allowed to show their strength by a father, a brother, a religion, or sometimes they don’t even know that they’re strong, but then tragedy happens and miraculously the strength always comes out of a woman.” To learn more about the DVF Awards head to the dvfawards.com.
