Commissioned by the owner of Holland’s only Prada stockist to create artworks using unsold A/W 2013 merchandise to tie in with the TEFAF Art Fair in Maastricht, the Netherlands, art team Lernert & Sander came up with a video project called “Last Season” that shows the Amsterdam-based artists sitting opposite each other as they carefully deconstruct $1300 sweaters by Prada, along with others by Celine, Jil Sander and Chloe, ultimately returning them to perfect balls of wool. The Prada and Jil Sander balls have already been bought by collectors (they cost the same as the original sweaters), while photos from the project start at $950. This is not the time the pair have been inspired by the world of fashion and beauty; for the 2013 TEFAF they created Everything, a perfume they created by combining all the perfumes that were launched in 2012 into one.
