James Corden has proved, once again, that he can sing in and outside of the car.

The Late Late Show host joined Coldplay onstage this past Saturday during their show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, for a jam sesh and a tribute to the late pop icon Prince. "We're here at the Rose Bowl, I'll be honest, I didn't know how big it was when I said, 'yes.' I'm a little nervous," Corden admitted. "But thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience ... for this incredible night that you have given us all."

The 38-year-old birthday boy sang the hit Prince wrote for Sinead O'Connor, "Nothing Compares 2 U," in the huge stadium and the audience definitely loved it. Before starting the song, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told the crowd, "This next one goes out to Prince everybody. It's very important." Very important, indeed!

Plenty of celebs were in attendance, including Reese Witherspoon, who, of course, documented the awesome moment when Corden excitedly ran down the runway of the stage to belt out the famous lyrics.

Later in the night the band surprised Corden with a huge cake and a round of "Happy Birthday to You." Corden previously hosted Chris Martin in his car for "Carpool Karaoke," and it was pretty clear that the two men have a serious bro bond—note the very enthusiastic high-five at the beginning of the birthday song video:

Happy birthday to James, and thank you, Coldplay, for giving us this amazing musical moment!
