Ciara’s Bridesmaids Wore These Custom Gowns for Her Wedding to Russell Wilson
Our jaws dropped when newlyweds Ciara and Russell Wilson took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a glorious image from their glam nuptials in Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. The R&B hit maker gleamed in a custom lace Cavalli Couture gown while Wilson turned to Giorgio Armani for a made-to-measure suit (above). As for the bridal party: Ciara made sure to hook her BFFs up by tapping designer Michael Costello to create eight unique dresses for the lucky ladies (Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony, and makeup artist Yolonda Frederick were reportedly among the bridesmaids).
According to the designer, Ciara felt inspired after she wore one of his pieces as a host of the 2016 Billboard Awards in May and the two subsequently exchanged ideas—in person and via FaceTime sessions and texts—to ensure that each of her bridesmaids had a sublime creation that made her feel as good as the singer felt in her awards show look.
All eight bridesmaids wore a custom French lace choker as an accessory and each of their silk satin stretch dresses featured a different structure that was tailored to the wearer. “Every girl’s individual style is implemented in the design of their dress as well as their personality—Ciara made sure of that,” Costello explained in a statement.
As for the color, the singer felt that there was only one choice. “I think Ciara chose black as a bridesmaid color because every woman feels confident in black—you can’t go wrong,” Costello said.
“I loved working on this with Ciara and all her girls. It was a pleasure to be a part of her special day with Russell."
We think the choices couldn’t have been any more perfect.
