Chrissy Teigen Tells Us What Baby Luna’s First Holidays Will Be Like

We already know that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend like to go all out for the holidays. But this year is their first Thanksgiving and Christmas with baby Luna, so you'd better believe that they’re going to take it to another level.

“I’m so excited for Luna to see the big Christmas tree at our house,” Teigen told InStyle when we caught up with her at the launch of Stella Artois’s “Host One to Remember” holiday campaign. “She’s really a nature girl, which I didn’t expect because I’m not big on the outdoors. I’m very much a homebody and I like to be cozy and warm. But Luna really loves leaves and trees, so I can’t wait for her to see it all decorated. She’s going to be like, ‘That tree is inside our house? I didn’t know that was a possibility?’"

If Luna’s eight adorable Halloween costumes are any indication, she’ll probably be styled to perfection for Christmas, too. “We’re definitely going to do the holiday dress thing and get a cute Christmas dress for her,” she said. “I can’t wait to find it! If you saw what she wore on Halloween, you can tell that we love dressing her up.”

One tradition that baby Luna might still be a little too young to savor? Her mom’s holiday cooking. “It’s hard because she’s not really eating anything yet,” says Teigen. “But I would love to get a mashed potato in her somehow.”

The supermodel says her all-time favorite holiday side is actually a scalloped potato. “My mom is Thai and this is one of the recipes that she makes flawlessly, even though there is nothing Thai about it,” said Teigen. “It’s a hearty, creamy dish that has bacon and ham, but it’s really the love and care that she puts into it that makes it so wonderful. The best part is that you can even make it a couple days before, re-heat it on Thanksgiving or Christmas, and it’s even better. And it feeds a ridiculous amount of people.” Sounds like Luna has a lot to look forward to.
