It looks like 2019's first hot mic controversy is in the books. People reports that unbeknownst to her, This is Us star Chrissy Metz called fellow actor Alison Brie a bitch while she was still mic'd up on the Golden Globes red carpet.

During an appearance on Facebook Live's Golden Globes pre-show, Metz spoke to the co-hosts about the latest season of This is Us, something totally normal for someone arriving at an awards show. However, things took a turn after Metz was supposed to introduce fellow Golden Globes guest Alison Brie, who had just arrived. As the camera shifted to show Brie stepping onto the carpet, Metz's voice could be heard saying, "She's such a bitch."

Brie, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her work on GLOW, didn't seem to hear the comment — or did her best to remain composed. People adds that last year, the two actors were actually photographed together at the ceremony, so something must have gone down between the two to merit that sort of comment.

Fans are speculating that Metz could be salty about the lack of nominations for This is Us, which seemed to be an award season darling last year. Metz's co-star, Sterling K. Brown, took home a trophy for Actor in a Drama Series. Metz and her co-stars Brown, Milo Ventimiglia, and Mandy Moore aren't nominated this time around, something that many viewers see as an outright snub for the fan-favorite series.

UPDATE: Jan. 6, 10:30 p.m.: On Sunday evening, Chrissy Metz tweeted that she did not and would not call another actress a bitch.
