Here's Why Chris Pratt Isn't Bothered by Questions About His Diet and Fitness Routine

As a woman in Hollywood, Bryce Dallas Howard is used to answering interview questions about her diet and fitness regime, but she wasn’t prepared for what would happen when she did joint interviews with her Jurassic World co-star Chris Pratt.

“As a woman, when you’re doing interviews and you’re doing an action film, you kind of steel yourself for all of the really annoying questions like, ‘What was your diet?’ and ‘What was your fitness routine?’ and ‘What did it take?’ And when I’m doing an interview with Chris, he just basically gets harassed about that stuff,” she told Ellen DeGeneres during a joint appearance on Tuesday’s show to promote Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

“At the beginning I was like, ‘Oh this is really refreshing,’ and by like the fifth or sixth time I was just like, ‘His body is not a commodity. He’s a human being with thoughts and ideas and dreams and goals. Don’t just talk about his abs!’” she continued.

Pratt, though, is unbothered by the questions. “I feel like at least a third of my job is just being a prop. I am a puppet,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I get to say stuff that other people come up with and stand in an area that someone’s already lit. It’s great and easy. And if that gets me really fun fishing trips and a cool car, I’ll do it.”

The co-stars also dished about their upcoming Jurassic World sequel. “There is an extinction-level event happening on the island, which is jeopardizing all the lives of all the dinosaurs on that island,” Howard says.

“There’s a dinosaur, flips out and starts killing some people,” Pratt adds.

And luckily Howard isn’t running in heels for the whole movie this time. “I got to wear more comfortable shoes and I cannot tell you how easy this movie was for me because of that. It was legitimately shocking,” she said.
