According to the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star, he and his wife are locked in a hardcore competition—over bedtime stories. “It’s so funny, because we’re strangely competitive with each other when it comes to entertaining him and getting into the voices and the characters,” he said on Friday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I’ll read the left page, and she’ll read the right page. And we’re reading this book, and I start affecting a little accent for the character. And then she’s like, ‘Oh!’ And then she starts doing these, gesticulating and laughing.” “And then before long it’s like we’re completely not even paying attention to whether or not he’s even … We’re so competitive with one another. It’s like, I’m calling in my hair and makeup team to come in. I’ve got my costume on. I’m like, ‘Ay, then is that how that it’s going to be?’ And he does not care,” Pratt joked. In all seriousness, the actor couldn’t be more thankful that his wife and son joined him on his latest press tour. “Because I’m with Anna in these foreign locations, I have somebody who really cares deeply about culture and is like, ‘Hey, let’s go tour this thing, or go see this.’ And I’m able to enjoy the time much more than if I was just by myself and I was stuck in my hotel watching movies,” he said.
