According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered six episodes of a dance competition show from the dancing duo, who met while co-starring in Step Up in 2006. Dewan Tatum will serve as judge and mentor on the series, in addition to producing the project with her husband. Although much of the details about the show remain closely guarded, the network has described it as "a fresh take" on the dance competition genre, which as far as we can tell means no lip-syncing, unfortunately. Although Tatum is taking on a more behind-the-scenes role on the series, rest assured that the actor will make more than one appearance on the show.
In addition to her husband, Dewan Tatum will serve as a co-producer the show with her partner Meegan Kiernan (via their production company, Purple Cup Productions). An established dancer, Dewan Tatum began her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera, and has been a recurring guest judge and performer on So You Think You Can Dance. The busy mother to her and Tatum's 2-year-old daughter, Everly, currently stars as Lucy Lane on CBS's Supergirl.
