Just when you thought Oscar week couldn’t be more glamorous, Chanel came to Los Angeles to show everyone how it’s done. The iconic brand took over Bar Marmont in West Hollywood, Calif., Thursday night for an invitation-only, star-studded cocktail party to launch its "I Love Coco" Backstage Beauty Lounge, which is free and open to the public Friday, Feb. 26, through Sunday, Feb. 28 (reserve a spot here).

Some of Hollywood’s hottest stars like Dakota Fanning and Kate Bosworth (above), as well as Willow Smith and Janelle Monae (pictured below) were greeted with live music and flash tattoo artists and offered mini manicures and makeup touch-ups to experience the brand's new Le Vernis nail colors and Rouge Coco Stylo lipshines. “This is especially fun for me because I genuinely use Chanel makeup,” Fanning said at the event. “It’s the definition of beauty and elegance. You just can’t go wrong with it.”

“How amazing is it that Chanel’s opening this event to the public?” Bosworth said of the luxurious venue that boasted everything from Chanel wallpaper to a dressing room stocked with makeup, a photo booth, and gorgeous white roses. “Chanel is an experience, and although it’s aspirational, this is a whimsical way for people to have a piece of the brand.”

Kiernan Shipka, Ashley Benson, Nicola Peltz, and Rowan Blanchard were also among other celebrities who attended the decked out event. Whether Snapchatting with the custom “I Love Coco” filter or dancing to Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit (watch them in action in the above video), everyone made the most of the night.

“I feel so free,” said Shipka (above), who may have been the only person in the crowded party not donning a Chanel bag. “I have nothing with me besides my phone, and I have a friend who’s holding it for me," she said. “We’re taking advantage of all of the Chanel paraphernalia in the background.” So that explains all the selfies.
