You Won't Believe Carrie Underwood's Low-Maintenance Workout Schedule

Carrie Underwood used to be a gym rat, but it seems like that's not the case any longer.

The singer opened up to E! on Thursday about how she fits physical fitness into her extraordinarily hectic life (she's got her own music, her family, and an active wear line to take care of), and we're taking notes.

"I used to work out six days a week," she said. "But now that's a little rare, sometimes it's one or two times a week and that just kind of has to be OK. And it is OK because whatever I'm doing that's keeping me out of the gym is important."

We're happy to hear she isn't putting as much pressure on herself to keep up a six day workout schedule—because let's be real, that's a lot—but when she does hit the gym, she's got a great gym buddy to help her out: her husband hockey player Mike Fisher.

"Mainly, when we work out together, we're just working out in the same space," she said. "But I will say, the other day I was doing the ab wheel ... and later on that day, Mike said something like, ‘I'm not ready for the ab wheel yet.'"

If that wasn't cute enough, Underwood and Fisher's 2-year-old son Isaiah sometimes joins in the family workout fun, just like he did last March in the video below.

Gym time as a family affair? We can get behind it.
