Carrie Fisher Reveals She Had an "Intense" Real-Life Romance with Harrison Ford
Die-hard Star Wars fans who can't get enough of the romance between Han Solo and Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher's latest reveal will surely shock you.
The 60-year-old actress, who captured hearts as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars Trilogy and again while reprising her role with Harrison Ford in the latest flick, told People that she and her co-star had a passionate 3-month affair during the filming of the original movie in 1976. The actress opens up about her experience captured her in diaries from that time in a new book, The Princess Diarist ($15; amazon.com).
Fisher, who was 19 at the time, described her romance with the 33-year-old, who was a married dad-of-two at the time, as "intense," revealing, "It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend."
The short-lived relationship came to an end after filming wrapped on the movie, but the two remained on good terms.
For everyone star-struck by the Indiana Jones actor's good looks, you're not alone. Fisher remembers, "I looked over at Harrison. A hero's face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow. How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?"
