If you've ever considered getting bangs, you've probably been warned that they're super high maintenance. Regular trims, cowlicks, and daily styling are the reality of getting a haircut with bangs, but then there's celebrities like Camila Cabello who wear them so effortlessly, you're convinced you should get them anyway.

The singer is known for her long, dark chocolate brown hair and center-parted, '60s-inspired curtain bangs — a look she's stuck with since her Fifth Harmony days. And while Cabello has kept the curtain bangs trend alive over the past few years, she took the 2020 Grammy Awards as an opportunity to switch up her signature hairstyle.

Ahead of walking the red carpet, Cabello's hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos chopped her trademark bangs to give them a more choppy, textured look. He kept the sides longer for a soft layered style that frames her face, whether the singer is wearing her hair down or pulled back into a ponytail or braid.

"Camila is wearing a beautiful Versace Haute Couture black floor length gown, so we wanted her hair to be very modern and edgy to go along with that," says the singer's hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos in an email. "Prior to the Grammy Awards, we decided to chop her signature curtain bangs a bit more, so she has a new, fresh, choppy layered look."

Giannetos paired the singer's new bangs with sleek and straight hair. For a smooth, voluminous finish, he prepped the L'Oréal Paris ambassador's hair with the brand's products, including the Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream Leave In Conditioner on her ends, and BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray on her roots. Once her hair was dry, he straightened it in sections using ghd's Platinum+ Styler.
