Cameron Diaz Opened Up About Motherhood for the First Time Since Welcoming Daughter Raddix
"It’s the best, best, best part of my life."
After three-and-a-half months of motherhood, Cameron Diaz is opening up about how baby Raddix has changed her and husband Benji Madden’s life.
In an Instagram Live with Who What Wear CEO Katherine Power on Tuesday, the notoriously private new mom called motherhood the “best, best, best part” of her life. “I love being a mother," she gushed. "I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled."
Diaz admitted that quarantine hasn’t changed things too much for her family. “I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old, or a three-and-a-half-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months.” However, there’s one exception: “But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody.”
“But it’s nice, and I love a bubble,” she continued. “I love being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking. But at the same time it’s crazy that you can’t go out to the world right now.”
The Charlie’s Angels star divulged her new daily routine, explaining that Madden puts their infant to bed each night. “He’s such an amazing father,” she said. "I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”
Diaz and her husband announced their daughter’s birth early in the new year, expressing their excitement over her arrival and also explaining that they would not be sharing any photos or details “other than the fact that she is really really cute” with their followers.
