Elsa Braid - Frozen - Once Upon a Time

Like the catchy hook of its hit song "Let It Go," Frozen has us mesmerized with another highlight: Elsa the ice queen's signature tousled side braid. On the small screen, actress Georgina Haig has been cast as Queen Elsa in Once Upon a Time, and no surprise here, her signature 'do looks just as good in real-life as it does animated. So, it was only natural that we were inspired to recreate the attractive style -- that and it seemed the perfect way to cool off this summer!

First, sweep your strands toward the back to hide your natural part, and twist a loose, three-strand plait starting at the center of your head. Then, continue braiding along the right side. If your hair is a little slippery, a blast of texturizer or dry shampoo can help to add extra grip. Once you've tied off the braid with an elastic, use your fingers or a teasing comb to create a loose, wind-swept appearance. Don't worry if any loose tendrils fall out, as it adds to the Elsa appeal. As a finishing touch, add a few hair gems throughout the plait to give the look an extra-cool twist. We love Karina's rhinestone-studded Swirl Pins ($6 for four; Mist on a protective veil of hairspray, and voila, you're ready to take on the kingdom.
