Celebrated actress and model Brooke Shields is no stranger to public scrutiny—in fact, she’s been subject to the media’s microscopic gaze for the last four decades.
But now, at 52, Shields says she feels more at ease with her body than ever. “When I was younger, I never loved being in a swimsuit because I picked apart the way I looked in them. I would always find a way to cover up,” she told People. “Now, I feel most confident when I’m showing off my body rather than hiding it.”
The mother of two’s newfound body confidence led her to join Swimsuits for All’s Power Suit campaign alongside fellow model and body-positive icon Ashley Graham, reality star and fashion designer Angela Simmons, record-breaking swimmer Pat Gallant-Charette, and nurse-practitioner-cum-influencer Katie Duke.
In the inclusive campaign, Shields and her inspiring fellow models pose in an array of swimwear, the emphasis placed on each woman’s comfort and personal style.
Graham stunned in a plunging white cutout one piece, while Shields channeled her inner Phoebe Cates in a sexy (and affordable!) red bikini.
So, what’s the secret to nailing your swim shoot, Brooke Shields-style? Confidence, of course. “If you feel good on the inside, it will always show,” she explains.
It sure shows, Brooke!
