Brad Pitt Appears to Have a Very Bro-y Nickname for Leonardo DiCaprio

The actor's Golden Globes speech had everyone smiling — including Jennifer Aniston.

Brad Pitt won his second Golden Globe on Sunday evening, his first since earning a statuette for Twelve Monkeys in 1996. The actor walked away from the 2020 ceremony with the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, and we walked away with what feels a wealth of insider knowledge about the A-lister.

In Pitt’s acceptance speech, he thanked co-star Leonardo DiCaprio — or should we say “L.D.C.” Yes, though it sounds like it was torn from a fraternity message board, that’s what he calls him. Poking fun at DiCaprio’s most iconic film to date, Titanic, Pitt, a true friend, then told him, “I would’ve shared the raft.”

Pitt went on to joke about the reason he didn’t bring his mother as his date to the ceremony. “I wanted to bring my mom but I couldn’t. Any woman I stand next to they say I’m dating, and that would be awkward.” It’s true, just look at poor Alia Shawkat …

But the speech’s greatest turn had nothing to do with Pitt’s words at all. The Golden Globes, knowing quite precisely what the people want, panned to a specific section of the audience (ex-wife Jennifer Aniston) mid-speech. And? She was smiling!
