It’s truly difficult to believe that cutting edge teen drama Gossip Girl premiered more than 11 years ago — the headbands! The Blackberrys! It was so modern, guys!

And though time may just pass us by, GG alum Blake Lively (aka Serena van der Woodsen) is keeping the CW show’s memory alive and well.

Lively, 31, arrived at Chanel's Metiers d'Art show at N.Y.C.’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Tuesday in a sequined gold bodycon minidress, white thigh-high boots covered in gold studs, and an achingly early-aughts cropped overshirt (aka the shrug) secured with a matching waist-belt. But better than even her glimmering ensemble and buoyant blonde locks was her exit.

Reason unknown, Lively skipped the show’s red carpet, dodging the evening’s photo-opp portion and giving us a much greater gift: some candid(ish) photos of "S" herself strutting down the Met steps.

Where’s Kristen Bell’s voice when we need it?

Xoxo, Blake’s shrug (who’s been moonlighting as an InStyle writer since she last left Lively's closet in 2005).
