Blake Lively's Met Gala Gown Is Straight Out of Game of Thrones
Blake Lively’s Met Gala date isn’t Ryan Reynolds, but he might just be the next best thing. The actress attended the 2018 Met Gala on Monday night with a very famous man accompanying her on the red carpet: Christian Louboutin.
Lively stunned in a red and gold medieval-looking Versace dress with a dramatic train, intricate beading and two sheer panels across the front. She paired the gown with a spiked headpiece that looked like a halo, making her resemble a literal saint. The statement accessory was appropriate considering the theme of the night, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Of course, she paired the look with platform Louboutin pumps and a soft updo.
So where oh where was Ryan Reynolds on Monday night? Perhaps he really was annoyed that his wife unfollowed him on Instagram (as part of a PR stunt for her new movie, of course). Or perhaps the fact that he’s overseas promoting his upcoming film, Deadpool 2, prevented him from being Lively’s date to the Met Gala (OK, that one is probably more likely).
Either way, he was certainly missed, but his wife held her own on the red carpet as always.
