5 Reasons Ben and Lauren Are the Bachelor Couple that Will Actually Stay Together
When it comes to Bachelor and Bachelorette couples, for every Trista and Ryan, there’s an Andi and Josh. And season 20’s dynamic duo, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell, are doing everything in their power to end up like the Sutters.
Higgins and Bushnell, who got engaged during the finale of their season, are opening up their lives to the cameras again for the franchise’s first couple spin-off series, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, premiering Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
The show, which has a Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica sort-of vibe, follows the two as they settle into domestic bliss in Denver, capturing the highs and the lows of their new normal. One of their biggest hurdles so far? Getting past the JoJo factor, a.k.a. that time on The Bachelor when Higgins admitted he had also fallen in love with runner up, JoJo Fletcher.
We all know that JoJo went on to be The Bachelorette and is now happily engaged to fiancé Jordan Rodgers, but run-ins with Higgins's ex during episodes one and two still prove for some awkward moments. Besides JoJo and Jordan, Bachelor faves Haley and Emily Ferguson (the twins), Chris Soules, and even, meat lover Chad from JoJo’s season, will also pop up on the show. And if Ben and Lauren can survive a visit from the Chad, they can get through anything. Keep scrolling for five more reasons we think they’ll make it to the altar.
1. THEY LEFT HOLLYWOOD
Instead of sticking around in L.A. after The Bachelor, Higgins and Bushnell returned to Higgins’s home base in Denver so they could focus on their relationship. The fact that Higgins didn’t sign on to do Dancing with the Stars, like Soules and Jake Pavelka, said that he wanted to put their relationship first.

2. THEY’RE CLOSE TO EACH OTHERS’ FAMILIES
Anyone who watched The Bachelor knows that Higgins is close to his mom and dad, who live in Indiana. Now, the two make it a point to see both sides of the family often, even bringing them all together for a reunion in Las Vegas recently.

3. THEY’RE BOTH BIG KIDS
If the couple that laughs together, stays together, these two have a pretty good shot. They’re always ‘gramming from their silly dates.

4. THEY GET ADVICE FROM OTHER BACHELOR COUPLES
Trista and Ryan Sutter are the ultimate Bachelor success story (married almost 13 years!). And lucky for Ben and Lauren, they just so happen to live in nearby Vail, close enough for a double date.

5. THEY’RE ACTUALLY NORMAL
Yes, they have a reality show. But it only shows that the couple is truly DTE—down to earth (and down to eat, according to this Instagram). More importantly, they seem to actually like spending every waking hour together.
