Behati Prinsloo Reveals How She Got Victoria's Secret-Ready 8 Months After Giving Birth
Three years (and two kids) later, Behati Prinsloo is returning to the hallowed Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway.
Just eight months after giving birth to her second daughter, Gio Grace, the 30-year-old is ready to strip down to her (very chic) skivvies for the world to see — but Prinsloo will admit the transformation wasn’t exactly overnight.
“I like to have more of a lifestyle of it, so once the show gets here I’m not like crazy trying to get in shape, trying to get healthy,” Behati told InStyle at the exclusive launch for Ryan Korban’s design book, Interiors, at the newly renovated Barneys Home at Barneys New York on Madison Avenue. “After I had my kids — the second one — I feel like probably five months after I started working out a little,” Prinsloo continued. “I breastfed so that helped me a lot, just losing a lot of baby weight. Right now I work out every day. I’m eating really healthy — chicken, salad, veggies … Just boring stuff, but the stuff we gotta do.”
When it comes to the show itself, the mother of two is “nervous, but excited” to return to the runway. “Honestly, I blackout,” she says of the moment she steps onto the catwalk. “I get butterflies before I walk out. I kind of shake a little — I’ll kind of malfunction right before I walk out and then I’ll be like ‘OK, I got this.’ It’s so exciting, I feel very empowered. It’s such a fun runway.”
As for indulging post-runway, Behati has a tradition of sorts. “Me and Lily [Aldridge] always have a pizza party,” she tells us, noting that Lily, who’s pregnant with her second child, won’t be walking in the show this year. “I need her!” she shouts in mock-outrage.
We have a ~feeling~ Behati may just find another pizza enthusiast among her fellow angels ...
