Almost a year has passed since Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine welcomed their firstborn daughter Dusty Rose and, understandably, it has brought a ton of life changes to the family.

In a new interview with People, Prinsloo explains how becoming a mother had such an impact that it completely shifted the way she felt about love.

"I love Adam, and when you get married and you fall in love with someone, you think that there’s no greater love than that love,” Prinsloo says. “And then you have a baby, and it’s just next-level love."

That kind of intense love wasn't something Prinsloo was prepared for. She admitted that feeling this strongly was the thing that surprised her most about becoming a mom.

“I think I was surprised by that because everybody always tells you that, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, yeah, whatever.’ I see how much more you can love,” Prinsloo tells People. “You think there’s a limit to love—like, ‘This is the thing that I love the most’—but honestly, I think what surprised me most is how intense that love is, and also how hard, at times, it is.”

Even during the hard times, though, she and Levine have leaned on each other.

“I think for both of us, we’re just so obsessed with being a family and having a family—seeing this next step in our life,” Prinsloo said. “[Adam] is such an incredible dad, and so excited to see her grow up. It’s so awesome.”

As baby Dusty Rose grows up, Prinsloo is making sure she has plenty of support from Mom too—and a sweet closet to match.

“I think I started keeping all the backstage VS robes for her, and thought it’s such a cool thing,” she said. “Like, ‘Look, Dusty, your mom walked in 10 Victoria’s Secret shows! Wow!’"

We think it's pretty impressive too.
