Balmain x H&M Collection Is Nearly Sold Out Less Than 24 Hours After Its Launch
It’s official: Everyone wants to be a part of the #BalmainArmy.
H&M’s highly anticipated collaboration with Balmain finally hit stores today and though overeager shoppers can nab the coveted finds for marked-up prices on eBay, the collection is nearly sold out. Fashion lovers around the globe lined up for hours (and even days) outside of H&M stores with hopes of obtaining a piece of the pie; and while some were successful, many were left empty-handed.
According to WWD, shoppers with an athletic approach to owning the collection waited as early as 2 p.m. the previous day outside of the brand’s Paris store, where Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing arrived for the official launch. “We are seeing a special enthusiasm for the collection,” a spokeswoman told WWD. Rousteing’s popularity and social media following also helped sparked interest for the collaboration. “It’s important to be in a store because it’s important to be close to fans, the people who stand in line for Balmain,” he added.
In London, 3,000 brave shoppers waited outside H&M’s Regent Street shop for a chance to take home some pieces, The New York Times reports. So what’s the deal online? Every single item from the 109-piece collection is sold out, with the exception of barely-there black-and-white ribbed bandeau tops ($24.99; hm.com).
Head to hm.com for your chance to shop what's left of the insanely popular collection. Good luck!
