Today is Oct. 21, 2015, which means the date to which Marty McFly time-travels in Back to the Future II has finally arrived. In honor of the classic series, we're breaking out our red puffer vests à la Michael J. Fox—and following Tina Fey's lead.

The funny lady donned the unforgettable look (pictured above) in 2013 at the Michael J. Fox Foundation gala, where she joked in her speech, "This is not a costume; this is what I look like now, you guys. I don’t have a TV show now, I have to do my own hair." The comedian added, "Like, we can’t all be Blake Lively! I left the house tonight thinking I had put together kind of a kicky little outfit, but I was wrong, and that’s fine."

Fey's fascination with Fox doesn't stop at his work in the classic film. The Back to the Future fan also expressed her gratitude for his dedication to Parkinson's research. "If there had been awards for the best philanthropic agents of change, Michael would surely win," she said at the New York event.

At the time, Fey even admitted to InStyle that she had introduced her little girl to the iconic trilogy. “Well, just this summer, I showed my 8-year-old daughter Back to the Future for the first time, and it's such a classic," she said. "When you're watching it for the first time with a little kid, and they'll be like 'OH WAIT, THAT'S HIS MOM?' It's so funny."

It's clear to see that she's been celebrating the big screen hit for a while now, and her red puffer jacket isn't the only thing that Fey has in common with the movie's characters. She told InStyle, "People used to tell me I looked like Lea Thompson, so I have an affection for that movie, because it made me feel like a big deal at the time.”
