Ariana Grande ditched her signature ponytail on Sunday night in favor of smooth, straight locks at the MTV European Music Awards in Glasgow, Scotland. The singer and InStyle's December cover girl wowed in the refreshing new 'do, which paired perfectly with her sleek outfits for the night—a sexy cutout navy gown on the red carpet and a silver peplum leotard on stage.

Grande's hairstylist, Dalina Rebollo, let InStyle in on why the singer loves to wear her hair up. "She loves Brigitte Bardot sexpot hair," Rebollo says of the ponytail. While we're fans of Grande's ever-present pony, we're loving this new look as well. Not surprisingly, the singer's hair wasn't the only win for her last night—she also took home two EMAs, one for best female artist and one for best song for "Problem."
