The Sad Reason Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Divorce Has Yet to Be Finalized

Do you remember where you were when you heard that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were getting divorced? Of course you do—we all do.

The couple rocked the world in fall 2016 when news broke, and though nearly two years have passed, the red tape on their legal proceedings is still keeping their “marriage” in limbo.

According to a source at E! News, the hold up is due in part to a prolonged disagreement concerning custody of their six children (Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 11, Knox, 9, and Vivienne, 9).

“The latest issue is that Angelina wants to film [Maleficent 2] in Europe for months and take all six kids with her for the duration of the shoot," the source shared. "Brad is opposed to that and is blocking it from happening. Brad will be filming in L.A. for the summer and wants to see the kids on his regular custody schedule."

Obviously, neither party is pleased with the situation. E!’s insider reveals that Jolie is “furious,” while Pitt is “not OK with his kids being away for months,” and feels that it’s in the children’s best interests to stay at their “home base” of Los Angeles.

That being said, Jolie is not completely restricted from traveling with her children. The actress and humanitarian brought Shiloh and Zahara with her to visit a refugee camp in Jordan this past January, and all six Jolie-Pitts joined her in Paris later that month.

“[Angelina] is free to travel for shorter periods of time,” the source clarified, “ Brad isn’t opposed to that. But she can’t leave with the kids for several months.”

If only for our own selfish reasons, we hope they find closure soon.
