Amal Clooney Had a Very Good Reason for Skipping Princess Eugenie's Wedding

Yes, yes, all eyes were on the bride on Friday morning for the royal wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

But you can't fault us for combing through the crowd, too, for some fashion moments — especially with such high-profile guests like Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Demi Moore, Cara Delevingne and Princess Charlotte.

One noticeable absence, however, was Amal Clooney. We had expected the international human rights lawyer to arrive arm-in-arm with her hubby George given Jack's relationship to the couple. He serves as a British ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila brand founded by George, which was sold in 2017.

It turns out, however, that Amal had a prior engagement. She was busy giving a speech at the Pennsylvania Conference For Women in Philadelphia. Here she is, sporting her go-to beige stilettos and a calf-length black dress.

Back in May, Amal and George attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, Amal wearing a yellow Stella McCartney dress and George keeping it classic in a gray suit.

They were missed, surely, but at least Amal had a good excuse. What about you, George?
