The singer, who fell in love with N.Y.C. after moving here earlier this year, has just been named the city's welcome ambassador for tourism. InStyle’s November cover girl made the announcement Monday on Good Morning America, where she was promoting the release of her latest album, 1989, which dropped today. The singer said being named the welcome ambassador, "was the craziest, coolest thing." And it's affected my life in ways I am not even aware of yet fully." The singer added that NYC & Company (the Big Apple's official marketing organization) must have picked up on her enthusiasm for the city when they gave her the title.
