It's confirmed: Sarah Jessica Parker is heading back to the small screen after a 10-year hiatus, as her new show Divorce has been picked up for a full series by HBO, Deadline reports.

The series has been hugely hyped since news of a pilot emerged, with Parker's long-awaited return to a starring TV role, and it's written by Sharon Horgan, an Irish actress-screenwriter, who has worked on hit U.K. comedies Pulling and Catastrophe.

Divorce tells the story of Frances (portrayed by Parker) who's convinced to divorce her husband (Thomas Haden Church) by her two best friends (Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam) only to find that making a clean break isn't as easy as she'd expected. Cue plenty of opportunities for drama and comedy.

A specific air date is unknown as of yet but we for one are extremely excited to see SJP's television comeback. Carrie Bradshaw might be no more, but we have high expectations for Parker's take on Frances.
