News Awards & Events Oscars Alicia Vikander Reveals the Advice Eddie Redmayne Gave Her on Handling Her Newfound Fame By Olivia Bahou Updated on February 9, 2016 Pin Share Tweet Email Photo: Splash News Alicia Vikander may be new to the red carpet, but she’s handling her Hollywood “It girl” status with grace, thanks to some advice to from her co-star in The Danish Girl, Eddie Redmayne. “I’m still trying to get used to it,” she told reporters at the Oscars Nominee Luncheon on Monday. “Just promoting the films to start with, the beginning of last year, was totally new to me.” Vikander may not have had to experience doing press until after filming wrapped, but she got a firsthand look at how Redmayne handled his fame. “When we were shooting last year, he was in the mix of doing all this. I think I wondered like, 'How do you keep your head straight and you have to fly out each weekend to L.A. and do interviews?'” she said. The actor’s advice was genius, reminding Vikander that while his schedule is busy, he’s lucky to be doing what he’s doing.
