Meet Alana Hadid, Gigi and Bella’s Fashion Designer Half Sister

We can’t help but gawk at Gigi and Bella Hadid’s meteoric rise in the fashion world. And though it appears the globetrotting sisters constantly make headlines with star boyfriends and megawatt collaborations, prepare to make room for a third style-obsessed personality: Alana Hadid. The duo’s older half sister has officially teamed up with Ann Taylor LOFT’s sibling brand Lou & Grey for a capsule collection that captures her easygoing style.

To celebrate the accomplishment, the self-described personal shopper and stylist toasted her flourishing partnership with the ultra cool, laid-back styles at a seated dinner with friends and family Wednesday evening at L.A.'s Republique restaurant. Hadid floated through the party in a silky, blue Lou & Grey wrap dress styled with a patterned scarf from her own collection.

“We talked a little bit about doing something together, like maybe a T-shirt or just a collaboration on some level, but when we got to talking we realized that we had so many ideas and it turned into a capsule collection,” she told InStyle. “It’s really exciting and it was so organic.”

Though she tends to keep a lower profile than her runway-strutting younger sisters, Hadid is no stranger to the fashion industry. She’s worked for years as a personal shopper and stylist and, in fact, credits her past experiences for her seamless transition to collaborating. “I know my aesthetic really well and I also think I know what works for other people,” she said.

The Alana Hadid collection will kick off online and in Lou & Grey stores with a limited-run printed scarf (seen in photo top) on December 28th. Other elevated basics like sweaters and drop-crotch pants will follow in 2016, and, as Hadid herself puts it, “You feel like you’re in your pajamas all day, but it’s so well done that you look like you came off a runway.” We’ll take one of everything, please!
