Add Some Parisian Je Ne Sais Quoi to Your Fall Wardrobe's with Madewell's Newest Collab
If there was ever a shortcut to French girl style, it would be Sézane. The pieces from this Paris-based label exude that perfect balance between style and class, and femininity and effortless charm that many among us are on a never-ending quest to replicate. Lucky for you, this only-in-France label is landing stateside today thanks to a new collaboration with Madewell.
"Paris street life will always hold a special place in my design psyche," says Somsack Sikhounmuong, Madewell's head of design. "Classics like a logo-less leather bag or a structured car coat worn with a certain sexy tomboy attitude—that’s very French to me." The Madewell x Sézane capsule collection is full of these sexy tomboy pieces, including low-heel booties, blouses in muted prints, and the "La Superbe" sweatshirt (above) that sold out within days in France—how's that for a ringing endorsement?
"I wanted to strike a balance between our two cities, Paris and New York," says Sézane's designer Morgane Sézalory. "I imagined pieces for two women. First, a French woman trying to "fit" in New York—she wants to be chic, but cool and casual in that way Americans do so well. Then I thought about an American woman wanting to bring a Parisian touch to her wardrobe. The colors are quiet, heels aren’t too high."
The collection is available in select stores and online today and the "La Superbe" sweatshirt is sold in all stores. Check out some of the pieces below, then head over to madewell.com to add some je ne sais quoi to your wardrobe ASAP—this collection won't last long!
