"Nothing Lasts Forever” may be one of Maroon 5’s hit songs, but band frontman Adam Levine cannot say the same for his giant, newly finished—and very permanent—tattoo.
The Voice coach took to Instagram Monday to proudly share a photo of the design that completely fills up his back. Done by San Francisco–area artist Bryan Randolph from Spider Murphy's Tattoo, the ink features what appears to be a winged mermaid or mythical siren clutching a skull to her chest as a ship at sea sails towards and the sun sets behind her.
“Six months in the making,” Levine wrote in the caption. “Thanks @bryanrandolph for absolutely blowing my mind with this one! Woooo hooooo!!!!"
The clearly excited crooner—who had shared a partially complete photo of the tattoo back in November—added the sails and setting sun in this most recent and complete version of his back piece.
Levine’s model wife, Behati Prinsloo, also took to Instagram Monday to show off her husband’s latest piece of art. “Some serious art happening between @bryanrandolph @milodecruz and @adamlevine,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of her husband's back.
The singer has not yet revealed the significance of his new art, which is the latest addition to his already impressive collection of tats. We wonder if it will be the last.
