With their reign in the Upper East Side now drawn to a close—Serena (Blake Lively) wore her last gown and Blair (Leighton Meester) spun her last scheme—we had a few questions for Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman, the man behind all of the gorgeous looks that landed on our screens. Scroll down to see who he thinks had the biggest evolution, what he'll miss about the show, his thoughts on Gossip Girl's fashion legacy, and more!

1. Which character’s style evolved the most over the six seasons?Georgina Sparks (played by Michelle Trachtenberg) turned out to be something of a dark horse. By the end of the series, she had taken on a kind of glamour that, for me, put her in the running with Joan Collins as Alexis Carrington on Dynasty.”

2. What will you miss most about working on the show?“The kind of magic that goes into transforming an actor into a character is part styling, part tailoring, and part art. I think I will miss most the kind of wardrobe alchemy that is particular to Gossip Girl.”

3. For the series finale, did you incorporate any elements that paid tribute to past seasons? “We brought back Blair's headbands and of course Chuck's signature JPress scarf (in the finale flashback), as well as the mini-me's—the younger incarnations of would-be Serena and would-be Blair both of whom played a part in the plot of the finale. And Lil J (Jenny Humphrey of course!)

4. How do you want people to remember the characters and their style? “I hope people remember them with a Cheshire grin and high fashion reverie.”

5. What kind of fashion legacy does Gossip Girl leave? “Hopefully an iconic one that brings to mind rich. naughty Upper East Siders and their impeccable taste in clothing!”
