When the Child Actors of This Is Us Weren't Invited to the SAGs, the Adult Cast Stepped Up

The This Us Cast had some special plus ones in tow as they celebrated their big SAG Awards win Sunday night.

Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, and more, brought along a few of their young fellow cast members to the awards show in Los Angeles, since some of the actors didn’t appear in enough episodes on the NBC episodic to qualify for a ticket.

"Just want 2 thank Miss @ChrissyMetz again 4 very graciously & selflessly giving up her plus one so I could attend the SAG awards," Mackenzie Hancsicsak, who plays young Kate Pearson (younger version of Metz’s character), tweeted Sunday, along with several photos of herself hanging out with Metz and other young cast members on the red carpet.

"Some of the kid ensemble didn't appear in enough episodes 2 qualify, but when the adults found out, they stepped up & offered their plus one. Thank U!"

Meanwhile, Hartley brought the youngest actor of his character, Parker Bates, with him to the show. Like Metz and Hancsicsak, the pair hit the red carpet together and posed for photos, with Hartley sporting a monochromatic all-black suit and Bates sporting a navy blue suit.

The cast not only took home Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, but Sterling K. Brown nabbed Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series.

Following their wins, the cast headed to the press room where Brown gushed after he was asked about the closeness of the cast. “It is like a family,” he said. “It seems so cliché, like do they really love each other as much as it seems? The answer is yes. The joy is what I feel for my brother and sister, for my wife, for my mother and father, my mom who’s younger than me, and my dad who’s younger than me, these kids, my children, the younger versions of us.”
