While major awards shows like the Golden Globes and Oscars call for one-of-a-kind designer collaborations and memorable gowns, nothing celebrates fashion, specifically, quite like the CFDA Fashion Awards, held each year to honor the creative talents responsible for delivering game-changing runway and red carpet moments. To entertain a mix of editors, photographers, models, and fashion insiders, Joel McHale has officially been tapped as the host of this year’s ceremony on June 6 at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

“His experience as a host, an actor, a comedian, and someone who comes from outside the fashion industry will keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected,” Steven Kolb, CFDA president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. In addition to McHale’s expectedly funny quips, guests, which will surely include nominees like Marc Jacobs, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Donna Karan, among others, can look forward to a special performance by Grammy Award-winning star Jennifer Hudson.

Better yet, Michael C. Hall will also take the stage to honor the late David Bowie, recipient of the Board of Directors’ Tribute. And if that already didn’t sound like the perfect mix of ingredients for an epic night, actress and style wunderkind Tilda Swinton will accept the award on behalf of Bowie.

We can’t wait to see what everyone wears—and how the night goes down.
