Hulu's newest original drama series,11.22.63, premieres tonight on the streaming service. The show, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, stars James Franco as high school English teacher Jake Epping, who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The eight-part series kicks off in present day, with Franco's character debating whether or not he should time travel to October 1960. When he finally accepts the challenge, he goes through a time portal and lands three years prior to the assassination. His goal when he arrives? Find clues leading up to JFK's death and ultimately change history. But, he quickly learns that altering the past has serious consequences.

The first episode is equally intense and exhilarating—and expect lots of scary moments! Our favorite part? Franco's 1960s makeover, of course. His present day character (pictured above, right) is more scruffy and unkempt, but as soon as he lands in the '60s, he's forced to blend in. He shaves, cuts and styles his hair, and buys a tailored suit to fit the bill.
