Sarah Jessica Parker has officially found an outfit that looks exactly like 2021, and it involves gray sweatpants, white leggings, and a pair of black SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker high heels.

We're only 19 days into the year and yet we're pretty sure we have a clear idea of how it's going to go for the next 346. All of 2021 is basically going to be like one of those days where you don't feel like getting dressed because you have nowhere to go but you feel inclined to try just a little because everything is supposed to better.

Maybe you've taken out some of your going out clothes from storage because there's a slight glimpse of that light at the end of the tunnel. But your daily wardrobe is still mostly the clothing you fell asleep in. And that is exactly how we will all end up styling our gray sweatpants with high heels in a couple weeks time.

Sarah Jessica Parker will be off somewhere in the distance, shaking her masked face with (of course) a bedazzled face mask chain saying "I told you so." And while you might not want to hear it, the truth is this unexpected styling really is the perfect metaphor for 2020 and 2021. It's the epitome of what trying looks like before giving up.

Sweatpants and high heels are the clothing equivalent of that phrase we've heard over and over and over again all of last year: "Make it make sense." But unlike 2020, this nonsensical look is honestly really good. It shouldn't make sense, which is probably why SJP decided to add a base layer of white leggings because why the hell not? Sweatpants and high heels together don't make any sense and for that exact reason we'll be wearing them until things start to make sense.
