Photo: Backgrid Okay, hear me out: I have trouble putting together an outfit on a regular day, but when it comes to pre-planning 'fits I'm going to wear on vacation, I basically can't deal. Add in the fact that I haven't been on an actual vacation in over two years, and it's like I'm re-learning how to pack (and dress) for a trip. I could Google, "What to pack on my European vacation" and be bombarded with thousands of search results of things I probably don't even like — or I could just look at Angelina Jolie's Roman holiday outfit and copy it in its entirety. It truly covers all the bases when it comes to a good vacation outfit you can wear without fail. Vacation dressing doesn't have to be hard, and though we think we have to pull out all the stops, sometimes the simplest ensemble is the best. That's exactly why Jolie's all-white outfit struck a chord with me. The actress, who is currently in Rome directing her upcoming film, Without Blood, stepped out for a day of shopping wearing breezy white pants, a flowy white linen tank top, brown leather slides, and that XXL YSL tote that's taking over Hollywood. But it's the top-and-pants combo that has my full attention. Not only does that all-white pairing scream seaside getaway (with a hint of Coastal Grandma), but the pieces are also incredibly practical to pack on a vacation because a) they're versatile, meaning you can easily mix and match them, b) they take up very little room in your suitcase, especially if you're opting for linen pieces that basically weigh nothing, and c) they're easy and breezy, making the combo great for super hot, jam-packed days of sightseeing around town. Now that I have my vacation outfits a bit more fleshed out, I should probably actually book that vacation, right? I'm thinking Italy, how about you?
