I can no longer deny my unwavering obsession with Emily Ratajkowski's street style looks. I've written at length about her dog walking outfits, but her baby stroller pushing fits are honestly just as fun. New York looks good on her, and apparently we've reached the beloved sweater-but-no-pants temperature. Which, if you've ever lived in New York, you know is a very special fleeting time where every other person on the streets of Soho does their best Princess Diana impression in an oversized crewneck with bike shorts. There are very few other times during the year where this type of incongruous outfit makes sense.

Even though it's officially spring, NYC spring operates in a league of its own and is always playing hard to get. One day it'll drop to 30 degrees out of the blue, and the next it'll be 70 degrees. Most of the time, though, the temperature sits at high-50s, low-60s, which is great for just throwing on a sweater, and if you're Ratajkowski, some leather Zara cowboy boots.

If you really think about it, cowboy boots cowboy boots are the absolute perfect boot to wear if you plan on forgoing pants. Cowboy boots are a little tricky to tuck into jeans, so it feels right to just leave the jeans at home altogether. Plus, cowboy boots are typically taller than most boots and will cover a good portion of your leg, so who really needs pants anyway? Evidently, supermodels Elsa Hosk, who posed with cowboy boots in nothing but a bikini, and Kendall Jenner, who wore a white pair by R13 in a barely-theree bright orange jumpsuit, agree.

The Western boot look has been majorly on trend for the past couple of seasons, and it's going absolutely nowhere anytime soon. As thrifting content continues to dominate TikTok, we'll no doubt keep seeing cowboy boots, of which you can often find in bulk at any secondhand shop, and I'm definitely not complaining. Pants are overrated, anyway; I'd much rather wear cowboy boots à la EmRata, instead.
