Photo: Bellocqimages/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images The universe of baffling footwear — which exploded out of a Jibbitz-adorned black hole of a single pair of Crocs — is in a state of constant expansion. Intentionally dirty-looking Golden Goose sneakers, impossible-to-wear-at-the-beach heeled flip-flops, anything Yeezy, ever; this is just a sampling of the meteorically confusing shoes currently in orbit. And as of today, we have a new mind-bending shoe to add to the map. The slipper clog, a faux-shearling closed-toed slide that's been making the rounds all year, has finally received celebrity validation, ushering it in as a bona fide trend. On a walk through Santa Monica, California just yesterday, Jennifer Garner was sighted sporting the highly now shoe with her beloved Dior sweater and some light brown cords. The slipper clog's duality, from its cozy, indoor-appropriate upper to its sidewalk-ready sole, could have only come to prominence in 2021. Last year was about shutting off from the world and embracing the nest through our fashion (slippers). This mutation combines that feeling with one of tentatively dipping back into the protective styles we wore in the before times to face the world full-force (clogs). Our main takeaway from these images of Jen, though, is that the slipper clog is hella cute. Shop the style starting at $23 on Amazon.
