Jennifer Lopez Wore an Unexpected $4,000 Fall Cardigan With Confusing Sneakers

RIP to the sexy cardigan. Last year, cardigans were sexy thanks in large part to sexy cardi pioneer Katie Holmes. But now, it looks like longer, thicker, less sexy cardigans are what we're doing. Well, at least that's what Jennifer Lopez is doing.

While out in Venice, Lopez wore a $4,000 Brunello Cucinelli long crochet cardigan, a pair of sparkly Golden Goose sneakers (a brand we may never fully understand), and a small Valentino tote bag. The cardigan sweater essentially looked like a very wearable quilt, and it must be her nod to the changing seasons.

Lopez's cardigan is about a few thousand dollars out of our budget, but the internet isn't short on long cardigans we can actually afford. Free People has an entire section dedicated to the long cardigan, and Free People's Crofter Cardi achieves same vibe as Lopez's for $168. Nordstrom has a similar take for just $129, plus some more upscale options by brands like Helmut Lang, Ganni, and Staud. Across all brands at Nordstrom, long cardigan prices are as little as $75.

We're not saying you need to pack away your sexy cardigans just yet. But maybe give them a rest and focus on comfort. There's something inherently sexy about prioritizing that too.
