Photo: Rodin Eckenroth/Getty Images With all the hubbub of the past weeks (New York Fashion Week, the VMAs, the Met Gala, oof), it's a wonder celebrities have any energy at all to keep up with their public duties. Still, the show must go on, which is why we were graced with yet another red carpet event yesterday to celebrate the premiere of Focus Features' latest film, Blue Bayou. Awkwafina, who made an appearance as one of the event's VIPs, took the opportunity to challenge just what constitutes a red carpet outfit anyway. In a Pepto-Bismol pink blazer, skyline-emblazoned graphic tee, black pants, and white platform Dr. Martens, the "Nora From Queens" star was a breath of flowy fresh air amid a stuffy atmosphere of too many corsets and high heels to count. While fellow guests on the premiere's red carpet (okay, it was black) embraced semi-formal cocktail attire, her look was in starkest contrast with attendees of this Monday's Met Gala, including Kendall Jenner's naked dress, J.Lo's cowgirl getup, and Kim Kardashian's ominous shroud. She was even dressed more casually than Jennifer Aniston, who made a subtle nod to the gala's theme from across the country. We have to hand it to her: This is exactly what we'd want to wear on the red carpet, too.
