Yesterday, overlooking all of New York City, everyone from Gigi Hadid to Charli XCX to our very own Laura Brown was gathered at The Rainbow Room for The Daily Front Row Annual Fashion Media Awards.

The first of the night was given to Carine Roitfeld, who was being honored with a Fashion Legend award presented by Gigi Hadid. Hadid wore a sleek braided ponytail with an all-black Givenchy look. It was fittingly very New York, perfect for the almost-fall weather we're currently experiencing. Hadid also wore her Givenchy leather blazer with no shirt underneath, and it's the most genius transitional season style hack we've seen in a long time.

Leather blazers have been having a moment for some time now, but they'll absolutely be trending come October. They're more lightweight than the classic moto jacket — and just look like something a fashion icon would wear. The leather blazer's presence at the legendary Daily Front Row Awards solidifies its iconic status as a wardrobe must-have for the season.

While Gigi's look no doubt costs thousands, leather blazers can be found for as little as $37 at Amazon. And while we might not be presenting any fashion legend awards anytime soon, we might as well start dressing for the job we want.
