I'm convinced Sevigny is the coolest It girl their ever was, and her style is timeless yet still feels absolutely unique to her. That said, she was seen hailing a taxi over the weekend in New York while wearing an angelic look — and a pair of Teva sandals and socks. Now, I never thought I'd be saying this, but I want to recreate this look. This is a shock to my system because socks and sandals are pretty much a sartorial cardinal sin I never planned on committing. It's strictly dad-wear. But naturally, as only she could do, Sevigny makes sandals and socks look incredibly cool. And I can't be the only person who feels the same. Teva sandals are a comfortable classic, and in recent seasons have walked the runway at Cecilie Bahnsen, who also appears to be the designer behind Sevigny's top. And honestly, as someone who was spent the summer acquiring too many blisters, wearing socks doesn't sound like a horrible idea. Not to mention, you can easily buy a pair of Tevas that look just like Sevigny's for $40 at Nordstrom. Fashion rules were meant to be broken, and considering Sevigny is essentially the patron saint of fashion, this feels like a blessing. Amen.
