It's a bucket hat's world, we're all just living in it. No, but seriously, is it even possible to leave the house or go on social media without seeing the era-defining headwear in some form or another? Knitted cloches and logo-baring nylon buckets abound these days, but some celebrities are bravely veering into less-charted hat-itory.

Katie Holmes is the latest in a string of super-celebrities to add a baseball cap to her outfits. Wearing a faded orange cap with white contrast stitching that she's now worn thrice in two weeks, Holmes finished off an otherwise very simple outfit consisting of a black shell tank, cropped, sand-colored sweatpants, and black Birkenstock-esque sandals. Earlier outfits featuring the hat included a white long-sleeve top with black sweatpants and sneakers and a white tank with loose, clay-colored linen pants and brown leather flats.

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna have also been on respective baseball cap-wearing tours — Kim's in Italy, where she's been spotted topping off a John Galliano dress with a weed leaf-baring cap and toning down a slip-dress-and-micro-cardigan look with a casual blue and red cap; in New York, Rihanna served high-fashion menswear with an oversized blazer and a black cap.

While Holmes is leaning on the power of the baseball cap to add some flavor to low-key looks, Kardashian and Rihanna rely on the hat's neutralizing abilities to make their over-the-top outfits appear more casual. Truly, this hat can do it all. The next time you wonder if an outfit is missing something, consider a baseball cap. Shop the super-celeb-approved accessory starting at $13 below.
