Entertainment Kim Kardashian has a knack for being at the center of controversy, and we have a knack for following along. This week, Kardashian shocked and awed on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, wherein she casually wore history's most controversial trend like it was no big deal. Sitting on her iconic white couch, Kardashian wore a corset by French-born brand Miaou. Miaou is a hot-girl classic. It's been worn by Ariana Grande, Sophie Turner, Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, and Lady Gaga, according to the brand, so it's not shocking that Kardashian would also be a fan. What is scandalous is that the piece she wore has a long, lurid track record of being reviled. Women once burned their bras in the streets fighting for bodily freedom from such constraining garments, and yet here Kardashian sits, chilling in one on her comfy couch like there couldn't be anything more natural. Of course, what was old is now new, and time being the flat circle that it is has thrust corset dressing back into the mainstream. Wildly popular period series Bridgerton and The Crown have stuffy dressing on everyone's mind, in stark contrast from a year of widespread leisurewear. Thankfully, corsets and bustiers are a lot more forgiving this time around, comfortable even, and they're being worn on women's own terms.
